“If you wish to change conditions you must change yourself. Your whims, your wishes, your fancies, your ambitions may be thwarted at every step, but your innermost thoughts will find expression just as certainly as the plant springs from the seed.”
Before you start clanging hangers in the closet looking for the proper cocktail dress or elegant gown to attend the year end soirées, take a moment and plan.
Being fashion forward is a J O B, and style is attitude! It’s so much more than knowing the color pallet of the season and seeing which celebrity wears what colour. What’s more important than all of the fashion trends is the WEAR WHERE – what do you wear where should be the question of the hour!
This very important detail gets lost in the sauce when the vibe is high and everyone wants to make an entrance, especially when we do it for the likes… Or to compete with someone else.
As we say farewell to 2022, and prepare to be sexy over the holidays, fierce for the new year’s parties and comfy casual for the home visits there is still a code that shouldn’t be neglected – understand the wear where.
I don’t know about you, but I like to think of myself as fashion conscious and well put together!

I will mix classics with trends and do pops of colour here and there because it works for me. There is a way to bring forth the Rich Auntie, faaabulous housewife and fierce business woman looks when needed. Some try to mix the looks and the end result is kabooom! Fashion catastrophe. We all have seen it.
So as we approach the summer trends and year end soirées, Do-It-Right!!!

1. JEANS
Jeans are always a fashion flare that blend well. They can be dressed up or down, and always a classic look especially at the holiday luncheons and family gatherings, paired with blazers and/colored tops.
2. DRESSES
Holiday dresses for cocktail parties and dinners are always the major eye opener! Especially when we get to see the CEOs minus the blue power suit look wearing chiffon and sequence!
It’s all sooo exciting!
I love the sending off of last year’s stuff and welcoming of the NEW YEAR when done in all of the accentuated colors, golds, black, silver, white, cobalt blue and pink and and and!!! I can talk holiday snazzy-ness until next year! ( Which is right around the corner.)

3. SHOES
Holiday shoes and accessories are always essential! It’s even more important that they fit correctly. Comfort is important, wear what works… If you arrive at the party in stilettos, depart the party in stilettos. It’s not classy to leave with shoes in hand or flip flops that have appeared from the sequin clutch bag. (Raising my hand) I’m also very guilty of the latter. But when we know better we do better, that’s the catch phrase!
REMEMBER – What we wear is how, in some cases, we are remembered.
