Editor’s Note

We can see & say we’re beautiful!

THOSE DAYS OF SHYING AWAY FROM SEEING AND LOVING OURSELVES WITHOUT SHAME ARE A THING OF THE PAST.

A year or three ago, I came across a tweet from a very beautiful young black girl that read something along the lines of ‘I already know I’m beautiful so it’s not worth it sliding into my DMs just to tell me that.’ HEHE, I was so happy reading that tweet because girl, YES!

Recently, another gorgeous woman replied to someone’s tweet (a still from one of her video captioned ‘I love you with all your flaws’) that simply read, ‘What flaws?’ I was so excited, LOL!

If you’ve interacted with me, especially in my capacity as Chief Editor, then you’ll know that I LOVE women who aren’t afraid to say they’re doing amazing… Or look even better than amazing. Although battles with self-love and self-acceptance are often fought in the mirror and privately, I think loving yourself out loud is quite the stamp on you finally ceasing your power and beauty. Why shouldn’t women be able to see and say they’re beautiful? If men and society as a whole, can measure us as soft 3s but 8s below the belt and solid 6s but a 2 in the ass, then why can’t we, with and without whatever society deems more important on it’s attractiveness scale, tag ourselves as magic and add tax?

You’re not going to be everybody’s cup of tea, and you know what, you don’t have to be. Allow yourself to see and say YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!

ps: Finish them!
